Breed of the Week: Dalmatian. Brad Nowell, the lead singer of the rock band Sublime, had a Dalmatian named "Lou Dog" who accompanied him on stage often and was mentioned in the lyrics of several songs.

Breed of the Week: Dachshund. It isn't a good idea to let your dauchshund off it's leash on a walk for a couple of reasons. One, he (let's pretend I'm puting an 'or she' in there every time) has a very keen sense of smell and will follow it in a heart beat. You can call his name all you want but he has a one track mind and that is to find that smell. Two, he loves people. He wants to say 'Hello!' to everyone. He wants to make sure there aren't any 'bad guys' that need to be barked at. :)

Breed of the Week: Dachshund. The Dachshund was bred to hunt badgers. The word dachshund means "Badger Dog". Not a particularly original name... :)

Breed of the Week: Husky. Digging is their favorite pastime. Not only holes in the garden but in water bowls too. A husky owner is constantly topping up bowls with fresh water, due to the infiltration of muddy paws.

Breed of the Week: Husky. Siberians are intelligent and trainable dogs, but if they can’t see a reason for doing something to their advantage, they simply won’t do it. No amount of cajoling will help. Sounds a lot like most teenagers. Not that I would know...

Breed of the Week: Husky. Huskies are wonderful watchdogs. Their friendly nature and genuine love of people means that they will happily sit and WATCH anyone coming in and out of their owner's home. This is good news for an opportunistic burglar as a husky will watch him come in, give him a friendly lick, and help him out again with your computer, TV and any other valuables you have lying around the house. (...is that the right 'lying'? I have an 'A' in English and I still don't know...)

Breed of the Week: Cairn Terrier. Cairn Terriers are of the oldest terriers whose origins start in the Scottish Highlands. I wonder if the like bagpipe music :)

Breed of the Week: Cairn Terrier. This dog is often considered "natural" looking because of its often unkempt and raggedy like coat, not to mention that mischievous twinkle in its eyes. =) (...imagine a twinkle in the smiley face's eyes. It's kinda hard to do that with type)
